Korean nail technique ‘balsam dye’ makes a resurgence

Korean Singer Sogumm sported tangerine nails which used the ancient traditional Korean nail technique called ‘balsam dye’. This involved dyeing the nails with a paste made out of freshly crushed balsam flowers. Balsam nail dyeing is making a comeback and throwing light on it, Co-founder and Former Director of K-beauty brand Hince – Kim Hyun Joo stated that it is a pretty, transparent colour that is low-maintenance and gives a natural look and feel. Unistella’s Park Eunkyung revealed that balsam dye is now boosted by new water-activated kits that allows dyeing nails without picking or mashing flowers.
