14 April 2022: According to Forbes, L’Oréal heiress Françoise Bettencourt Meyers has been declared the world’s richest woman with a net worth of about $74.8 billion. Last year, she was the fourteenth richest person in the world with a net worth of $1.2 billion. She is the Vice-Chair of the Board of L’Oréal, a brand that her grandfather started in 1909.
Bettencourt Meyers and her family have a 33% share in the company stocks. Bettencourt Meyers is also the prescient of the family’s philanthropic organisation that works towards enhancing France’s role in science and arts.
