Partha Chatterjee, former Bengal minister and his close aide, Arpita Mukherjee have been questioned and kept in a 10-day Enforcement Directorate custody over a recruitment scam in West Bengal. It has also raided three nail salons run by Arpita. She has been using one GST number to run the beauty parlours. There was another GST number on her name but it was not linked to any business. Investigating officials feel that the other GST number must be to evade taxes. A raid was also conducted in Arpita’s flats where Rs 52 crore, gold and other valuables were recovered. The ED has sealed one flat in which Arpita Mukherjee was living that was originally gifted to Partha Chatterjee.
