A 25-year-old software engineer, who had ordered a nail polish bottle worth Rs 388 from an online shopping website, fell in prey to cybercriminals. She lost approximately Rs 92,446 when she telephoned the customer care digits for enquiring about the lag in the product’s delivery. According to the policemen, the incident happened last year between December 17 and 30. The victim lodged an FIR against the fraudsters with the Wakad, Pune, India police. Two people have been booked by the police under the provisions of the Information and Technology Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
