CIDESCO is encouraging its members, students and training providers to become more aware of the climate emergency and supporting them with guidelines to becoming a more sustainable beauty and spa operator. A Sustainability Mentor has been nominated in each country to provide advice and guidance. CIDESCO International President, Anna-Cari Gund, said, “Operating sustainably needs to be built into all our working practices, wherever we might be based, and having guidelines to follow makes it easier and achievable.” The CIDESCO International Sustainability Initiative includes a six step manifesto covering waste reduction, recycling, avoidance of pollutants, staff training, sourcing complaint suppliers, and water conservation.
