Aveda, a famous haircare brand, turns completely vegan. The brand has been cruelty-free since 1978, but some of its products still contained beeswax, honey, and beeswax-derived ingredients. However, from now onwards, all its products will not have even a single animal-derived ingredient. “It was quite a challenge to remove beeswax-derrived ingredients for Aveda formulators as it helps in giving better texture, colour payoff, structure and smoothness”, said Christine Hall, Aveda’s VP of Research and Development. However, after years of hard work, innovation and creativity, Aveda products have been reformulated with a blend of plant-based butters and waxes.
