On August 11, 2024, all the hair and beauty associations in India celebrated the National Salon Day 2024, which was initiated during the pandemic. Nirmal Randhawa, Uday Take, Indra Ahluwalia, Neeta Parekh, Madhumita Sekiya, Savio John Pereira, Nitin Dabas, Pinky Singh, and Prakash Parekh, imminent people from the beauty and hair industry were the forerunners of this campaign.

According to Ashok Paliwal, President of Hair and Beauty Federation of India, all salons in different states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, New Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh were decorated on this day with sweets and cakes distributed as a mark of the celebration. The event started during the pandemic where the hair, beauty, cosmetic, and wellness industry decided to come together to face the crisis. It aimed at helping salon professionals and offered them training and safe salon space to work. Every year since then, this day is celebrated with pomp and show to celebrate their struggles, unity and enthusiasm to work.
