Guwahati is all set to become the next hospitality hotspot with 11 new 5-star hotels in the pipeline, of which two projects are with Marriott Resort & Spa and Taj Hotels.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Guwahati will become a hospitality hub in the region with many 5-star properties being launched in the near future. He recently laid the foundation stone for two Marriott International hotels. He added that the two new projects by Marriott Resort & Spa and Fairfield by Marriott will have an investment of INR 500 crore and will be spread across over 25 acres of land. There is a massive demand for hotels from consumers, which will be fuelled by these new properties.

Sarma added that Radisson is also expanding its footprint in the city by 100 more keys, and there will be a Taj property in place of the present Vivanta one. All these projects will improve Assam’s hospitality sector and will create a lot of job opportunities, which in turn will enhance the economic growth of the state.
