Global Cosmetics, a leading beauty and personal care company in Hong Kong was one of the first few companies to feel the immediate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as their manufacturing facilities and production plant are based in China. In a conversation with Cosmetics Design-Asia, Patrick Leung, VP of business operations stated that China will continue to be a major supply chain hub for the cosmetic industry despite the disturbance caused by the coronavirus pandemic. “We were impacted in the beginning but now with the virus affecting the US and Europe, they are coming back to Chinese suppliers because the supply chain there is affected. It’s been a rollercoaster. I believe that in the long-term, things should be back to normal,” added Leung.
