The birth of a new business ritual is upon us so let’s use this time to unlearn, relearn and imbibe a totally new culture for Nail Extension & Nail Art Services, as well as Manicure- Pedicure procedures.
Today’s client needs a guarantee that they are stepping into a Highly Disinfected Nail Salon offering completely Safe Nail Services. Here are Important Tips on daily practices that are essential for Professional Nail Techs. As employers, it is our responsibility to mandate these procedures.

NAIL SERVICES
STAFF SAFETY:
- Check their temperature/record.
- Sanitize & handwash as they enter.
- 3ply disposable Mask.
- Face shield mandatory.
- Disposable Gloves. (Gloves to be changed after each service)
- Disposable Hair cap.
- Disposable shoe covers.
- Disposable gown or Disposable Apron
CLIENT PROTECTION:
- Check Temperature/record.
- Sanitizer & hand wash.
- Ask health questions/record.
- Offer disposable Cape.
- Disposable shoe covers.
- Clean purse & mobile with 70% IPA spray(70% Isopropyl Alcohol)
- Seat them on Disinfected chair maintaining social distance
IN-SALON DISINFECTION:
- Spray/fumigate the area.
- Mop Floors with 1% Sodium Hypochlorite solution/phenolics.
- Wipe All surfaces- tabletops, UV/LED lamps, trolleys, chairs, door handles, music system, coffee machine etc. – using 1% Sodium Hypochlorite solution or Chloroxylenol(4.5-5.5%)
or Benzalkonium Chloride.
PRE/POST SERVICES:
- Tabletop, chair, trolley cleaned as above.
- Gel jars, gel polishes, brushes, nail polishes, hand rest, tray etc. to be wiped clean with 70% IPA using disposable tissue.
- Porous Tools – if possible user disposables. Otherwise, Emery Boards, Block Buffers to be Sprayed with 70% IPA and air dried.
- Non Porous Tools – pushers, cutters, cuticle nippers, nail cutters, mandrels, cleaner brushes etc.
- wash with soap/water & soak in Glutaraldehyde solution following manufacturer instructions. Rinse & store for next use.
- wash with soap/water & put in autoclave
- After completing the service same procedure to clean – tabletops, UV/LED lamps, trolleys, chairs etc – wipe using 1% Sodium Hypochlorite solutionor Chloroxylenol(4.5-5.5%)
or Benzalkonium Chloride.
MANI/PEDI SERVICES
(All above procedures apply)
- Non circulating Basin: Clean with soap and water.
- Disinfect with 1% Sodium Hypochlorite solution. Spray and leave 10mins
- Circulating Jet tubs: Add water n detergent, run jets, clear tub.
- Disinfect with 1% sodium Hypochlorite, run jets, clear tub.
- Pumice stones are single use.
- Metallic loofahs and all non-porous tools to be disinfected in glutaraldehyde.
- Any porous tools can be disinfected with 70% IPA as above.
- Chair, trolley etc disinfected as above.
