L’Oréal has appointed Kaustav Ghosh to its India Technology Hub in Hyderabad, where he will lead the Commercial B2B portfolio supporting the group’s omnichannel business operations across the NASAPMENA region. The appointment signals a continued investment in the capabilities of L’Oréal’s Hyderabad hub, which has grown into one of the group’s most strategically significant technology centres globally.
Ghosh brings more than 15 years of consulting experience focused on enterprise performance management and technology-led transformation across FMCG, manufacturing, and technology sectors. He joins L’Oréal from EY India, where he held the position of Senior Manager, and has previously worked with Deloitte, ABeam Consulting, and McKinsey and Company. His background spans the full landscape of enterprise technology strategy, giving him a well-rounded understanding of how large organisations translate commercial ambitions into operational and technological realities.
In his new role, Ghosh will work across the intersection of business, planning, and technology, supporting L’Oréal’s omnichannel commercial operations across a region that spans North Africa, South Asia, the Asia Pacific, and the Middle East and North Africa. The NASAPMENA cluster represents one of the most diverse and rapidly evolving regional groupings within L’Oréal’s global structure, encompassing markets at very different stages of beauty market maturity and digital commerce development.
The appointment reflects the growing ambition and scope of L’Oréal’s India Technology Hub in Hyderabad. Since its establishment, the hub has expanded significantly in both headcount and mandate, taking on increasingly complex technology and transformation responsibilities that extend well beyond the Indian market. It now supports critical global and regional functions across data, digital, ecommerce, and enterprise systems, making it a genuine centre of excellence within L’Oréal’s worldwide technology ecosystem.
For the broader beauty industry, L’Oréal’s continued investment in its India technology capabilities is a meaningful signal. The Hyderabad hub’s expanding remit reflects a global shift in how major beauty companies are thinking about technology, moving it from a back-office support function to a strategic driver of commercial performance, consumer engagement, and operational efficiency. As omnichannel commerce becomes the dominant model across the beauty industry, the ability to manage complex B2B relationships, supply chain flows, and digital commerce platforms with technological precision has become a genuine competitive differentiator.
L’Oréal’s track record in India reinforces this direction. The group has consistently invested in the country not just as a consumer market but as a source of technological talent, innovation capability, and strategic thinking. The recent inauguration of the Unilever Fragrance Hub in Mumbai and L’Oréal’s acquisition of Innovist, parent of Bare Anatomy and Chemist at Play, are part of a broader pattern of global beauty majors treating India as a market that both consumes and creates value at the highest level.
Kaustav Ghosh’s appointment is one more data point in that story, bringing deep enterprise technology expertise into one of the most important regional hubs in L’Oréal’s global network.
