1. Work with fine sections throughout (this technique is time-consuming, not a quick styling process).
  2. Take a U-pin and feed a thin section of hair through it.
  3. Hold the U-pin at the roots and wrap the section around it in a figure-of-eight motion.
  4. Repeat this across the whole head, using U-pins of varying sizes to create random-sized texture.
  5. Iron the sections once the infinity twists are in (or leave them to set for a few hours).
  6. Release the U-pins, allowing the hair to hold its zigzag shape.
  7. Style as required.

Colour Tip

This zigzag texture works best on hair with dimension. A soft balayage or root-smudge in ash or cool blonde tones helps highlight the irregular twists, since each U-pin section catches light differently and shows off tonal variation.

Cut Tip

Layers suit this style well, as they add movement to the textured sections and prevent the look from appearing too heavy or flat. A mid-length to long cut gives the technique enough room to create visible zigzag definition.
