Inspired by the Gen Z , this new collection celebrates self-expression through three distinct colour narratives — Chaos Mode, Soft Launch and Main Character

At the launch of Godrej Professional’s latest Vybe Collection, the focus was not just on hair colour but on the personalities and moods that inspire self-expression. Designed for a generation that views beauty as an extension of identity, the collection translates Gen Z mindsets into wearable, trend-driven looks.

Speaking at the launch, Shailesh Moolya, National Technical Head at Godrej Professional, explained that the inspiration behind Vybe came from observing how younger consumers interact with colour today. While professional hair colour has traditionally catered to consumers in their thirties and forties, colour experimentation is increasingly being driven by Gen Z.

“We realised that colour play belongs to the younger generation. They are more expressive, more experimental, and far more willing to try something different,” said Moolya.

The collection is built around three distinct personality profiles. Chaos Mode represents the bold, fearless individual who embraces experimentation and lives by a carefree attitude. Soft Launch captures those entering a new phase of life, whether college, a new workplace, or a fresh social environment, while still preferring subtle self-expression. Main Character celebrates confident personalities who naturally command attention and enjoy being at the centre of every moment.

The collection also reflects the connection between colour and seasonality. According to Moolya, “brighter and warmer shades resonate during summer months when consumers are in a more adventurous, holiday-inspired mindset. As the year progresses into the festive and wedding season, colour preferences shift towards richer and softer tones.”

When asked which trend from the collection is likely to dominate this season, Moolya pointed to Chaos Mode as his personal favourite, noting that consumers are increasingly comfortable experimenting with bolder shades.

Summing up the collection in three words, Moolya described Vybe as “Unapologetic. Gen Z. Easy Glam!”
