Ananya Panday has been appointed as Chanel’s Fragrance and Beauty Ambassador for India, expanding her existing role as the luxury house’s first-ever Indian brand ambassador. The appointment marks a significant deepening of the partnership, positioning Panday as the face of Chanel’s fragrance and beauty portfolio in one of the world’s fastest-growing luxury markets.
The announcement comes less than a year after Panday made history as Chanel’s first brand ambassador from India, a milestone that signalled the French luxury house’s growing commitment to the Indian market. Her expanded role into fragrance and beauty reflects both the category’s strategic importance and Chanel’s confidence in Panday’s cultural resonance with Indian consumers.
Panday described the recognition as a dream come true, reflecting on her personal and professional evolution. She connected her relationship with beauty to early memories at home, recalling how her mother and grandmother experimented with makeup and colour, and shared that she first discovered the joy of cosmetics by playing with products on her grandmother’s face.
Chanel described Panday as someone who characterises a generation of evolving tastes and fiercely independent identities who navigate the world with their curiosities, a positioning that speaks directly to India’s young, aspirational beauty consumer.
Chanel currently operates seven fragrance and beauty stores across key Indian cities including New Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, alongside three airport retail touchpoints. The brand also launched its Indian e-commerce platform last year, strengthening accessibility across the country.
With Panday at the helm of its fragrance and beauty communication in India, Chanel is clearly accelerating its investment in one of the most dynamic and high-potential beauty markets globally, reinforcing the luxury house’s long-term commitment to building meaningful presence in the country.
