Kay Beauty, the celebrity-founded cosmetics label backed by Katrina Kaif, has announced a high-profile collaboration that signals its growing ambition within India’s premium beauty space. Partnering with Nykaa, the brand has joined hands with renowned design house Falguni Shane Peacock to introduce its first limited-edition range, blending runway-inspired aesthetics with everyday usability.
At the launch event, attended by several fashion and lifestyle influencers, representatives from Kay Beauty, Nykaa, and Falguni Shane Peacock highlighted the shared philosophy behind the collaboration. Katrina Kaif indicated that the project was driven by her long-standing interest in the intersection of fashion and makeup, with an emphasis on Indian design. Adwaita Nayar, co-founder of Nykaa, executive director and CEO, Nykaa Fashion, and head of Owned Brands, added that the partnership reflects a broader strategy of building culturally resonant, innovation-led brands.
Designers Falguni Shane Peacock said the collection was shaped by adapting their established design principles into contemporary makeup formats. They explained that attention was given to developing shades, surface finishes and decorative gold detailing, with the intention of creating products that feel refined while remaining practical for daily use.

Named Kay Kouture, the collection marks a strategic move for Kay Beauty as it steps into fashion-led storytelling while retaining its focus on skin-conscious formulations. The new lineup is influenced by visual references drawn from the Gatsby era, alongside stylistic elements commonly associated with Falguni Shane Peacock’s design vocabulary. These inspirations have been translated into makeup formats intended for regular use, combining fashion-driven aesthetics with functional formulations.

The assortment includes 12 matte bullet lipsticks created for full coverage and strong colour payoff. In addition, two face palettes have been introduced, each featuring a highlighter, bronzer, shimmer blush and matte blush. Shades such as Champagne Brocade and Mulberry Cashmere are the favourites and complement lighter and deeper skin tones, respectively.
While visual appeal plays a strong role, the brand has emphasised performance and care. The lipsticks are formulated with conditioning ingredients such as Brazil nut oil and vegan collagen to support hydration and comfort. The face palettes incorporate Vitamin C sourced from rosa canina fruit extract and ceramide-linked compounds aimed at reinforcing the skin barrier while delivering luminosity.
The packaging adopts an art deco-inspired gold finish, positioning the products as collectible pieces rather than purely functional cosmetics. Industry insiders view this design-led approach as a way to appeal to consumers seeking luxury cues without the price tag of high-fashion beauty labels.
