Celebrate a night of drama, daring ensembles and haute couture at the Golden Globe Awards 2021.

The most coveted Golden Globe Awards 2021 was staged between New York and Los Angeles, with many celebrities dialling in via video calls. However, that did not wet their spirits. Fashion was on point, with the A-listers showing up in the hottest couture from the Paris runways both virtually and real-time. Some of them revamped past outfits giving sustainability a thumbs up, while others oozed fashion and style in their all-new ensembles.

Come along as StyleSpeak does a round-up of the best-dressed stars from fashion’s biggest night.

Elle Fanning – Retro fashion

Making her debut at the Golden Globe Awards, 22-year-old Elle Fanning recreated old Hollywood glamour in her icy blue Gucci gown, looking much like the graceful Grace Kelly. Her satin gown was complete with a pooling train and dramatic cape details with crystal brooch embroidered on the lower back of the gown. To add to her retro aesthetics, she donned a natural pearl and diamond bracelet from 1915 and diamond and platinum tassel earrings along with a pink platinum ring from 1920s. Her understated makeup look, and sleek hairdo in a ballet bun helped her flaunt all her jewels in style.

Cynthia Erivo- Futuristic avataar

Cynthia Erivo always comes out in daring attires for all award nights, and the Golden Globes 2021 were no different. She graced the red carpet in Los Angeles wearing a Valentino Haute Couture from one of the recent Paris runways. The bright lime green mesh outfit was dramatic in both hue and volume. The exaggerated skirt was matched beautifully with sky-high platform shoes and accentuated leather opera gloves. The bionic nature of her style was further accessorised with an ear full of earrings and a diamond septum ring. Her futuristic avataar was complete with pearlescent shade of silver hair and dramatic eye makeup.

Lily Collins – Chic style

Lily Collins zoomed in for this year’s Golden Globes in 80s-inspired paisely print gown with vintage embroidery. The chic gown had a one-shoulder cut with padded sleeves and a playful side cutout. Her huge hoop earrings and bouncy curls and bold lipstick added to the vintage vibes.

The fabulous and fierce fashion with dramatic designs, daring silhouettes and elegant ensembles made the pandemic-hit Golden Globes a colossal hit. All the stars were dressed to impress both virtually and in-real, making it a night of fun and fashion.

This intricately designed ensemble took a total of 350 hours to create.

Anya Taylor-Joy- Classic Hollywood

Anya Taylor Joy wowed the audiences in a curve-skimming green Dior Haute Couture with matching shoes. She accessorized the look with sleek Tiffany & Co. Diamond jewellery worth $1.8 million. Dripping with glamour and elegance, the gown came with a draped bust to give it a 70s feel. She wore her platinum locks worn to one side, adding to the retro charm. What made her stand out were the off-shoulder straps made out of hand-crafted taffeta silk flowers. She wore natural diamonds from Forevermark with a choker necklace and drop earrings to add to the regal charm. Her less is more makeup gave her glowy finesse and her lightly twirled tresses left loose made Amanda look like a princess.

Angela Basset brought back the drama to the Golden Globes red carpet donning a Dolce & Gabbana purple gown with a thigh-high slit and a thigh-length long braid. The asymmetrical gown with a curve-hugging bodice sprinkled with beaded embellishments looked chic. While the feather trim around the shoulder gave it the oomph factor.
